On one of my recent trips to tell people about Harvest America, a woman named Carol invited me to their home and told me that three years ago the Lord spoke to her heart and asked her if she was willing to be obedient to Him in small things. She said, “Yes Lord.” So the Lord instructed her to pick up a penny off the street and she obeyed.

Thus began three years of obedience in small things. In those three years, she was not told what to do with the money she was saving…until just a few weeks ago. She said that when I contacted her to tell her about Harvest America, the Lord told her that this is what her obedience is to be used for!

In three years’ time, her small acts of obedience added up to thousands of dollars. The Lord will use those three years of being obedient in small things to accomplish great things.

We are told in 1 Samuel 15:22 that obedience is better than sacrifice. Carol did both. She was obedient in small matters and sacrificed as well. How many people will be reached, lives touched, and souls saved because of Carol’s small acts of obedience?

What about you? The Lord has called each of us to take the gospel to all the world. Will you, like Carol, be obedient to the Lord?

I want to encourage you to continue to pray, invite, and give. As we continue to be obedient to the Lord in small things, we can know that He will do great and mighty things in return!
