There is certainly a lot going on in the Harvest Crusade Department!

You may have heard by now that Harvest America 2013 is going to be transmitted live from The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! Yep. . .Home of the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall (birthplace of both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution), and of course Philadelphia is known as the City of Brotherly Love.

I recently read a CNN article about Philly and it said, “Out of the nation’s 10 largest cities, Philadelphia’s homicide rate is the worst.” Philly certainly needs Christ, just as our entire country does.

I just returned home from a 10-day trip to Philly where I met with several Harvest Crusade supporters and informed them that Harvest America would be transmitted live from their city. (I have to say that one of the best parts of my job is sitting down with a person from another part of the country who supports Harvest Ministries, over a cup of coffee or a meal, and giving them a “peek behind the curtain.” After all, they really are an integral part of this ministry.) To say they were excited would be an understatement!

I’ll be taking several more trips to this beautiful part of the country between now and late September, when Harvest America is scheduled. The next trip will be in early February, when we will be doing a Harvest America launch right from the Wells Fargo Center for local pastors and business leaders. I’m really looking forward to it!
