I hate to say it, but it’s full disclosure time…

On Sunday, the 26th of August, 2012, about an hour after Harvest America, my family and I were driving out of the parking lot at Angel Stadium and I was already obsessing over what Harvest America 2013 was going to look like.

With so much to do, and so little time, I was thinking: who, what, when, where, why, and how?

Who was going to be assigned to the various areas that need development?
What was going to be the mobilization plan? We have 50 states to do work in!
When were we going to get started? We have so much to do!
Where do we start? So many areas that need revamping and redevelopment!
Why, when there is so much to do, do the days seem so short?
How are we ever going to get this all done?

Then, when I finally stopped my little freak-out, a few Bible verses shot through my mind:

Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.”
Romans 12:12, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”
Lamentations 3:22-24, “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘Therefore I hope in Him!’”

I simply needed to chill out and remember that God is the one who is in control. I need to be in constant prayer and never forget that the Lord will never fail me; my hope is in Him alone.

Shortly after that day, I and a few others here at the Harvest Ministries offices started putting together a mobilization plan, developing new content for the 2013 site, and completely reworking the Harvest America Planner. God had been working on each of the team members assigned to these tasks and once we came together as a team, it was clear to see that each of us had part of what was needed to complete the tasks, and that none of us had it all figured out on our own.

For me, this process has been an example of 1 Corinthians 12:12-31. It is the body of Christ functioning as Christ intended-working together.

God has amazing plans for Harvest America 2013. His favor has clearly been on our nation since its inception and we believe He is not done with us yet! There is more for us, and we believe that now is the time for churches across our nation to come together like never before to proclaim the gospel message with one voice to all who will listen.

I hope you will prayerfully consider partnering with us in Harvest America!

God bless you,
Scot Camden
