Living the dream!
- February 28, 2013
I think many Christians dream about working in full-time ministry. Well for me, last year that dream came true. After working a secular job for eight years, the Lord opened the door for me to work here at Harvest. I always thought working for the church would be a blessing, and I was right! This morning we had our daily office prayer and devotion time; then we joined the rest of the team for our weekly meeting that opened with another great time of prayer and devotion.
Working for the church is great, but one thing I realize now is that it really is work! I had no idea of all the hard work and planning that goes into putting on evangelistic events. I love seeing how perfectly God has placed talented people here to accomplish His work of reaching people with the gospel. When I am asked what it is I do, I am pleased to tell people, “I work at my church, which works with other churches and communities to reach people with the message of the gospel.”
More precisely, I’ve been working on the Harvest America event in Philadelphia. Last month a few of us flew into Philly and held a meeting with some of the local pastors. We heard a lot of positive responses from those who attended, and they were excited about Philadelphia being the platform from which the rest of America will hear the gospel on September 29. I also get to work with the youth pastors and leaders of Philly to mobilize their youth groups for the live event at the Wells Fargo Center. My hope is to see the venue full of people who need to hear the gospel – particularly the youth. It is going be work, but I can’t think of anything else I’d rather be doing.
Please join me in praying for the people of Philadelphia and all who will hear the gospel through Harvest America. Thank you!
Grace and peace,
Aaron

Amen…I have been in the lab field for 25 years and dream of just serving and working for God and not have to work a secular job. ( healthcare politics ) enough said ! But I being a lab assistant all my life, I have a hard time understanding what I might bring to Pastor Greg and Harvest. I will leave it too the Lord to direct me on =)
Congrats and may God keep blessing you and the Harvest Team and its partners.
