Local Prayer Strategy

Great endings begin with prayerful beginnings! As you prepare for Harvest America 2013, we ask that you include this event in your daily prayer time and seek to get others involved in joining the local prayer effort.

We have developed a local prayer strategy that will help to develop a focus on praying for Harvest America across the Greater Philadelphia Region. This consists of utilizing word of mouth, social media, and the Harvest America Prayer Bookmark, as well as attending the Harvest America Prayer Rally that will be held just prior to Harvest America.

  • Step 1. As an individual, commit to pray for this event daily, asking others to pray, and praying over the event at any prayer meetings that you currently participate in at your church.
  • Step 2. Utilize any social media accounts you have to alert and remind your family, friends, and those in your network of influence to be praying for Harvest America.
  • Step 3. Speak with church leadership about using the Prayer Bookmark as a tool to get the entire congregation praying for the event and for those they would like to see make a commitment to Jesus Christ.
  • Step 4. Utilize the Prayer Cloud to add names of those you would like Christians across the nation to be praying for. The Prayer Cloud is a virtual tool where thousands of names are placed. These names are then seen by tens of thousands of Christians across America who can pray for their salvation.

Musicians

  • Jeremy Camp

With 25 number-one radio singles, four gold albums, seven Dove awards, and multiple nominations ranging from Favorite Artist to Album of the Year, Camp is no stranger to accolades. But more impressive than his achievement is his faithful commitment to glorifying God through his music and lyrics. Hope and healing despite personal tragedy is the theme of not only several of his songs, but of his autobiographical book, I Still Believe, and the forthcoming film in collaboration with Greg Laurie and Nick Vujicic, Hope for Hurting Hearts.

  • Kirk Franklin

Best known as the leader of urban contemporary gospel choirs, Kirk Franklin has won nine Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, 39 Stellar Awards, 16 GMA Dove Awards, eight NAACP Image Awards, two BET Music Awards, a Soul Train Award, and numerous others. In 2010, he authored the New York Times bestseller The Blueprint: A Plan for Living Above Life's Storms. His recent album, Hello Fear, represents a long road taken to reach a divine revelation and freedom that Franklin believes is possible for every hurting soul.

  • Lecrae

It was a rocky road that guided Lecrae in the way of grace and redemption. Raised by a single mother in a home of abuse and neglect, Lecrae looked to the streets, living a lifestyle filled with drugs, crime, and rap music. At the age of 19, Lecrae became a Christian and a desire stirred in him to offer hope and encouragement through music. His album, Rebel, released in 2008, became the first Christian Rap album to ever sit in the No. 1 position on Billboard's Top Gospel Charts. Today, Lecrae is a very popular Christian Hip-Hop artist. In 2013, Lecrae's recent album, Gravity, won a Grammy for Best Gospel Album of the Year. With more than 70,000 sales in its first week, Gravity became the No. 1 Rap Album, No. 1 Independent Album, and No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

  • MercyMe

Formed in 1994, MercyMe found its way into the spotlight with its subsequent release of "I Can Only Imagine," which gained popularity in both Christian and mainstream markets. Since then, MercyMe has continued to produce top-quality albums as a Multi-Platinum band and has enjoyed several Grammy nominations and multiple Dove awards. In 2009, Billboard named MercyMe's, "Word Of God Speak," the No. 1 Christian Song of the Decade. Their eighth studio album, released in 2012, The Hurt & The Healer, debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart and was written as a reminder to people that they are redeemed and sanctified in Jesus Christ.

  • NEEDTOBREATHE

NEEDTOBREATHE and their 'anthemic Southern rock' sound is getting national attention both in and out of the Christian music scene. Their album, The Outsiders, was featured in numerous blockbuster films and prime time television shows. Winner of 9 GMA Dove Awards, NEEDTOBREATHE has a reputation as a must-see live act. The band's latest album, The Reckoning, debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart. NEEDTOBREATHE is passionate about carefully composing songs with a deeper meaning, addressing serious themes relevant to the brokenhearted and downtrodden.
